The Fault monitor application is build over the NMS Platform. The application can be used to monitor and report the status of any device which can send SNMP traps.

You can construct an hierarchical view of your network. Symbols representing the devices to be monitored can be added manually or discovered by the auto discovery component. Trap handling includes generating visual and audible indicators, logging and execution of  external programs. An Integrated MIB browser will help you to get the raw data from the SNMP agents.

The GUI of the application is distributed as an open source code. You can modify the code to  customize the GUI to your specific needs.

The trap handler integration API can be used to add new trap handlers to the application.

The application is currently available for windows 2000, windows XP and windows 2003 operating systems. Unix style operating systems will be supported in the future.

Licensing

You can buy a license to use this software on a specific computer. A License can be easily transferred to another machine (voiding the license for the first machine).

Once the license is installed it is tied up to the hardware in the computer (HD, CD, network card) and any change might require getting new license.

Upgrade policy

Once you have purchased a license you are entitled to upgrade the application whenever a new release is available.

This upgrade process assures that you can get the latest bug fixes for the features you have licensed. You will probably need to upgrade your license in order to use new features.
